The above tournament was held at Silverstream on a very cool, rainy and windy day. It did not deter the 8 opponents who came from the lower North Island (Wanganui, Levin and the surrounding regions of the Wellington area). Claire Bradburn represented the Silverstream Petanque Club. The tournament consisted of four timed games and a play-off, for a duration of 50 minutes each. Claire Bradburn faced Kevin McFadgen of Kapiti in the play-off for 3rd and 4th positions, with Kevin defeating Claire 13 – 4. Well done to both for their performances. The final untimed game was between Dave Gatchell of Levin, (the previous holder of the title) and Tony Simpson of Wanganui, with Tony defeating Dave 13-11 in a very close fought game. |
